Thank y
ou for visiting my website. It’s great to have you. I created this website as a virtual portfolio about myself, my interests, the people close to me, my specialties and as a source of inspiration for myself and others. We all have so many stories, so many lessons. I want to celebrate those and recognize them each and every day.
The quote at the top of the page references listening to your heart. Growing up, I struggled with this concept – and I’m still working on it every day. The idea of listening to your heart versus your head can be difficult to grasp. But I have realized it is really the best thing we have to go on. When we feel things in our heart, that is when we know they are real.
Throughout my career which has been mainly focused in the education field, one of the biggest takeaways I have had to date has been that as a leader, it is critical to lead with your heart in addition to your head. So many times we get wrapped up in our thoughts and fears and data. We don’t take time to really stop and listen to what our heart is telling us. I am a firm believer that if we did that we’d have less stress, see less conflict and bring to light issues and concerns long before they turn into huge problems.
Through this website I’d like to purposely combine my personal and professional life within the overarching context of listening and leading with your heart. Last time I checked, I don’t zip on a new body when I go to work. I’m still me. And to truly experience all of me it’s important that I am true to myself whether in a professional setting or personally. I want to be authentic – that is when people see my best self. Some may disagree with this and that is perfectly fine. This is just how I choose to live my life. And I work on it every day.
Visit this website often for resources on how to lead with your heart and for stories about people using their heart for good. As a trainer and coach by trade, I am constantly looking for tools on how to continue to grow and lead ‘right.’ I believe that it is our responsibility to leave each situation we encounter better than before we were there.
